Who we are

Silver Consultants was founded by Russell Silverman, a qualified Chartered Accountant who has built up a wealth of experience from over 40 years in the accountancy sector.

After gaining a BA (Hons) in Accountancy, Russell spent three years training at a major international practice, after which he joined the Liverpool office of the North West practice of Gruber, Levinson Franks, becoming a partner within a few years. During 18 years at GLF he was integral to the development of the  business from a small office to one of the top firms in the city.

In 1999, he merged his business with the Liverpool office of Haines Watts, one of the largest practices in the UK. During his time there as a partner in Liverpool, the local office, and the national firm, grew substantially, by providing top class advice to SME`s not only as regards compliance, but also by becoming a trusted adviser to clients on day to day business matters.

Russell was also involved in various committees which formulated strategy for the future of the business nationally.

Russell Silverman

Russell Silverman, Founder and Director of Silver Consultants Ltd and Qualified Chartered Accountant

Despite being an accountant for over 40 years I am, in the words of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp ‘The Normal One’.

My businesses,  and reputation, have grown through down to earth, and prompt, proactive, advice on numerous business issues to a wide range of size and type of clients, as well as regularly helping them to mitigate their tax liabilities.

I have been married since 1989 to Marianne (we have lasted a long time though I guess it seems even longer to her) and I am the embarrassing father to two grown-up and very personable children, Madeleine and Michael.

We also have a cockapoo called Oscar who became my new best friend when arriving in 2018.

My main interests in life, outside work and family, are socialising, attending sporting events, and rock music.
I regularly attend concerts watching guys who are even older than me, and usually still have lots of their own hair, play very loud music.

I am also an avid supporter of Liverpool FC and have had a season ticket in the same seat since 1971, the first match in that seat being Kevin Keegan’s spectacular debut.

One of my biggest thrills in life was briefly meeting Bill Shankly and one of the benefits of age was seeing Liverpool win the League several times up to 1990 before we had to wait a few years to win it again in 2020.

It was worth the wait!!
